The first Smokin’ On The Route BBQ Cook-Off is a fully sanctioned national event with the Kansas City Barbeque Society. The competition is part of the larger Rt. 66 Heritage Festival in downtown Miami, OK, providing a plethora of opportunities for food and refreshments, live music and shopping in a family friendly, casual and fun atmosphere.
Just added to the competition will be a fully sanctioned KCBS steak contest as well as a Backyard BBQ contest.
**Note** You do not have to be a KCBS member to enter the backyard BBQ contest.
**Note** You may start tearing down before the awards ceremony. The packet says you have to wait, but you are allowed to start tearing down if you desire.
Competition categories include chicken, pork ribs, pork and beef brisket. In addition to competing for prizes in each category, teams will also vie for the title of Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion.
